At Compass Pediatrics, we recommend an annual routine physical examination, or well child check-up, for children of all ages. Parents can use this opportunity to ask questions about their child’s health and growth.

During the visit, our pediatricians will review your child’s growth and development and address any issues that may be noted. They will also make recommendations for encouraging healthy habits and take this opportunity to review the recommended immunization schedule and discuss/administer any immunizations that may be needed.

Physically, our pediatricians may check:

Blood test
Blood Pressure
Pulse
Respiration rate
Weight
Height

After the visit, we will schedule you for your next routine visit.

Sports Physicals

Oftentimes, a signed physical by a parent and one of our pediatricians is required for students to try out and participate in school/team sports. We conduct these sports physical exams, once a year, and we take a detailed medical and family history that is usually recorded on a form provided by the school.

Typically we record the following information during a sports physical:

Height
Weight
Blood Pressure
Pulse
Vision Screening Results
Heart, lungs, abdomen, ear, nose and throat examination
Evaluate posture, strength and flexibility
